Calling all creators! Do you keep hearing how great Pinterest is for creators and want to know if it’s worth the effort? Or perhaps you’re already pinning away and are looking for ways to monetize your Pinterest account? Yay! You found us! We’re so excited that you’re interested in monetizing your creative efforts with Pinterest! Pinterest is, in our very biased opinion, currently the best way creators can make money on social media. Pinterest’s Creator Rewards program is designed specifically to incentivize creators to make authentic content for the platform. And did we mention that they pay a lot more than other social media platforms? Like, a lot more. While we’ve been singing the praises of Pinterest for growing brand awareness for ages, one of our most popular content requests was to share how Wave co-owner Whitney, who also runsA Wellness Space, is making thousands of dollars a month by creating Idea Pins with Pinterest. We recently completed a series of Idea Pins on Pinterest explaining how easy it is to make money with the platform that was extremely popular, so we wanted to make sure even more people had the opportunity to learn about Pinterest monetization through Creator Rewards. Stay tuned for the end to get our exclusive guide to making money with Creator Rewards on Pinterest.Hint hint: Already know where this is going? The Pinterest Creator Rewards Program
Creator Rewards is a beta program that encourages creators to make Idea Pins natively on the Pinterest platform. Once you qualify for the program, you’ll gain access to apply to it through the Creator Hub. Once you’re approved, you can start earning. To earn that cash money, you’ll make Idea Pins that fit a prompt, shared in the Creator Hub. Each month, a new batch of prompts will be posted. For each accepted Idea Pin that follows the prompt, you’ll make money! One of the best aspects of Creator Rewards is that, unlike other creator incentive programs, there aren’t typically any engagement requirements. If you are a creator on other platforms, you’ll likely know that engagement = earnings, which can be really freaking stressful for creators who depend on monetized posts for their income. Cuz, ya know, you don’t REALLY have control over your engagement. With Pinterest Creator Rewards, you can often simply get paid for creating high-quality content that follows the prompt. Make great content = make great money. *chef’s kiss* to your wallet.
Better than other platforms, you say? So, how much can I make with Creator Rewards?
Check out this Idea Pin and see for yourself.
Is it really that easy to make money on Pinterest? Like, really?
I know, right? Seems too good to be true. We might be biased, but as far as creator funds go, we think Pinterest is the best! The requirements for being approved for the Creator Rewards program are much less strict than other platforms and the payouts are much higher.
Does Pinterest really pay you?
Yep! Pinterest invested $20,000,000 into the program. Yes, that’s 20 million dollars (and they aren’t done investing either). After you get approved for Creator Rewards, you will get paid directly by Pinterest for creating Idea Pins. You add your bank account info when you apply, so you literally get a direct deposit every month for your approved Idea Pins. THAT’S RIGHT, CREATORS. NO NET 90 ON CREATOR REWARDS. CUE THE CHOIR!
Let me in! How do I get into the Creator Rewards program?
Currently, these are the requirements for gaining access to the Creator Rewards program:
Use the Pinterest app on your mobile phone
Be 18 years or over
Be located in the US
Have at least 1,000 followers
Have created at least three Idea Pins
Create original content
*Please note that creators with a catalog (store) on Pinterest aren’t eligible for the program. But don’t worry! There are still plenty of ways to monetize your Pins!
What do they mean by “original content”?
You know the drill. Every platform wants you to be creating content natively. Pinterest is no different. Original content on Pinterest means that it’s free of watermarks from other platforms, uses copyright-free music, and incorporates video as often as possible. So, in other words, it is 10000% fine to repurpose your content from other platforms on Pinterest! It just won’t help you gain access to Creator Rewards.
1000 followers? But I thought you said following isn’t that important on Pinterest?
Welllllll… it isn’t. Idea Pins will still get great distribution even if you have few to no followers. That’s one of the great parts of Pinterest! That said, they are specifically looking to support social media content creators who are making Pinterest an awesome place for their users. As you already know, one of the easiest ways to know if people are resonating with your content is if they hit that follow button. It’s a clear indicator that they want more of your unique voice. So, yes. In this case, (and in a few others) followers are actually kind of important now.
Fine, I get it. So how do you get 1,000 followers on Pinterest?
